QUALIFICATIONS
REQUIRED: Valid N.Y.S. teaching certificate in the Teacher of Speech and Hearing Handicapped/ Speech and Language Disabilities area

- Licensed Speech-Language Pathologist in New York State (strongly preferred).
- Strong diagnostic abilities to assess individual students' communication skills and monitor progress using a variety of assessment tools.
- Desire and knowledge to balance students’ social/emotional and academic/intellectual needs.
- Evidence of strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with parents, staff and students.
- Team-oriented mindset with the ability to work collaboratively with interdisciplinary academic teams in lesson and therapy planning.
- Knowledge of strategies to support the areas of literacy and writing.
- Comprehensive knowledge of therapy planning that incorporates diverse learning modalities and differentiated instructional outcomes; skilled in using assessments to guide and adjust individualized therapeutic approaches.
