QUALIFICATIONS
REQUIRED:
- Valid N.Y.S. certificate in Social Studies 7-12
QUALIFICATIONS
DESIRED:
- Demonstrated experience, knowledge, and understanding of the New York State Learning Standards, specifically the Social Studies Framework, including the use of multiple assessments such as formative and benchmark assessments to inform unit design and instruction.
- Strong knowledge of the College and Career Readiness (CCR) Anchor Standards for Reading and Writing, with the ability to integrate literacy skills across content areas.
- Desire and knowledge to meet students’ social/emotional and academic/intellectual needs.
- Evidence of strong communication and interpersonal skills with parents, staff and students.
- Desire and ability to work collaboratively with an academic team.
- Evidence of strong speaking and writing skills.
- Knowledge and evidence of unit planning based on NYS Social Studies Framework, differentiated instruction and curriculum mapping.
- Uses varied instructional methods and assessments to support:
