Brewery Sales Representative

Summary

Pinthouse Brewing, producer’s of Austin’s original hazy IPA - Electric Jellyfish, is looking to add to our team of talented brand representatives assisting with sales, events and brand marketing opportunities in the Austin area. As we’ve grown with the addition of our fourth location here in Austin, our small yet mighty sales team is growing with the addition of a full-time salaried, on premise focused sales position we’ve newly created. We are are looking for a passionate and self- motivated industry pro to help us spread the gospel of Pinthouse here in Austin. This individual will help us maintain and build relationships with current and potential retailers of Pinthouse products. This individual will assist in all brewery sales initiatives- from daily account visits and evening promotions to festivals and samplings of our beers in the greater Austin area.

Prerequisites

• A love of Pinthouse Beer!
• Two years of sales experience in the beer or beverage industry preferred.
• In depth knowledge of, and direct experience in, the craft beer scene in Austin, TX.
• A proven track record to work efficiently with little day-to-day supervision.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license.

Important skills and abilities

• Demonstrated knowledge of the three-tier system and distributor inner-workings.
• Demonstrated ability to build and maintain working relationships with distributors and top-level account decision makers.
• Excellent oral, analytical, written, and group presentation communication skills.
• Demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Office programs. Google Suite a bonus.
• Ability to troubleshoot draft issues.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Plan and execute On Premise promotions including both small and large scale events. Targeting 2 events a month, (one Pinthouse promotion) w/ 1 large promotional event. I.E tap takeover, meet the brewer, beer dinner, collaborative event a month. To be coordinated with Distribution Manager.
• Obtains orders for accounts in conjunction with distributor representatives.
• Develop and maintain strategic partnerships with On Premise accounts in sales area.
• Sell in and conduct training programs with retailers, restaurateurs, and consumers on all aspects of Pinthouse Beer.
• Assist in implementing key brewery initiatives with distributors, retailers, and restaurateurs in area.
• Responsible for effectively communicating information with distributor partners to keep product fresh and relevant.
• Conduct required in-field work with sessions with distributor representatives.
• Ensure that the Brewery’s quality standards are clearly understood and enforced by distributors and retailers.
• Use data systems provided to identify opportunities for new or expanded distribution, lost sales, incremental volume increases, and other business insights.
• Demonstrate knowledge in overseeing and managing a personal and professional calendar, with particular attention to balancing multiple deadlines at any given time.
• Responsible to turn in weekly recap in a timely manner.
• Review and understand all legal restrictions regarding Brewery product in each market and ensure all initiatives are executed within those limitations.
• Ability and willingness to maintain flexible work schedules, as weekend, evening and extended workdays are necessary.
• Hosting retailer partners at the brewery once a month for tours, staff education opportunities.
• Travel is required.
• Additional duties may be assigned as needed.

Physical Requirements

• Regularly require to sit, stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; talk, hear, and smell.
• Ability to frequently reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and climb.
• Ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 25 lbs and occasionally lift and/or move up to 185 lbs.
