Job Description
The Guard House Attendant is responsible for monitoring access to company property, ensuring the safety and security of personnel, visitors, vehicles, and equipment. This position serves as the first point of contact at the facility's entrance, requiring professionalism, vigilance, and excellent communication skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and control access to the facility through the main entrance.
- Verify employee and visitor credentials and issue temporary badges as needed.
- Maintain a log of all visitors, deliveries, and vehicle entries/exits.
- Conduct visual inspections of vehicles entering and exiting the premises.
- Communicate with on-site personnel and supervisors regarding security concerns or unusual activity.
- Report any suspicious behavior or incidents to the appropriate authority immediately.
- Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the guard house.
- Operate security equipment such as cameras, two-way radios, and gate controls.
- Enforce company policies and procedures related to safety and security.
- Assist emergency responders in case of an incident or evacuation.
- Complete routine security reports and incident documentation.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Prior experience in a security or guard role preferred.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to remain calm and professional under pressure.
- Must be dependable, punctual, and attentive to detail.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Basic computer skills for logging and reporting.
- Ability to sit or stand for extended periods.
- May require walking short distances and occasional lifting (up to 25 lbs).
- Must be able to work in varying weather conditions.
