Role Description This is a part-time, on-site Entertaining Artist role based in Olathe, KS. Nights and weekends are required as thats when events happen. The Entertaining Artist will lead guests through step-by-step painting sessions while creating a fun, engaging, and welcoming studio experience. Day-to-day tasks include preparing canvases and materials, setting up and breaking down the studio before and after classes, and demonstrating painting techniques clearly and confidently. The role also involves interacting with guests, offering encouragement, answering questions about the painting process, and supporting a positive, inclusive atmosphere for all skill levels. The Entertaining Artist may assist with playlist selection, simple studio cleaning, and occasional support for private events or themed classes.
Qualifications
- Strong artistic skills, including drawing and painting, with the ability to break down artwork into easy-to-follow steps for beginners.
- Comfortable speaking in front of groups, with clear verbal communication and a friendly, engaging presence on a “stage.”
- Customer service mindset with the ability to create an inclusive, upbeat environment and support guests of all backgrounds and experience levels.
- Ability to manage time, follow class schedules, and multitask while demonstrating art techniques and interacting with guests.
- Willingness to perform hands-on studio tasks such as room setup, cleanup, and maintaining supplies and equipment.
- Prior experience in teaching, coaching, theater, performance, or hospitality is beneficial.
- Evening and weekend availability is required; flexibility to work special events and holidays is a plus.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional art education or portfolio strongly preferred.
