Responsibilities- Plan, teach, and assess physical education classes that cater to the needs and interests of students.
- Develop a balanced curriculum that includes individual, team sports, fitness activities, and health education.
- Create a positive, safe, and supportive learning environment to encourage student participation and enjoyment in physical activity.
- Monitor student progress and adapt lesson plans based on their individual performance and needs.
- Communicate with parents and guardians about students’ progress and ways to support their physical education at home.
- Instruct students in safety practices related to physical activities and sports.
- Participate in district-wide events and contribute to school-wide initiatives related to health and wellness.
- Maintain accurate records of student performance and attendance.
- Collaborate with fellow educators to incorporate health education and physical fitness into the broader school curriculum.
- Stay updated on the latest developments in physical education and coaching techniques.
- Bachelor's degree in Physical Education.
- Valid Arizona teaching certification in Physical Education.
- Strong knowledge of physical education curriculum, assessment methods, and instructional strategies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to motivate and inspire students to be physically active and healthy.
- Experience working with diverse student populations is preferred.
- First Aid and CPR certification is a plus.
