Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes and presentation standards
- Ensure all food is handled safely, stored properly, and prepared in compliance with food safety regulations
- Assist with meal preparation, including chopping, portioning, and assembling ingredients for service
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations, including utensils, tools, and cooking surfaces
- Support kitchen team members during busy periods to ensure timely service delivery
- Follow proper knife skills techniques for efficient and safe food preparation
- Contribute to menu planning discussions by providing feedback on ingredient quality and preparation methods
Skills
- Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, or restaurant settings
- Strong knowledge of food handling procedures and food safety standards
- Excellent knife skills and proficiency in meal preparation techniques
- Background in dietary department or dietary aide experience is a plus
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment with a keen eye for detail
- Good communication skills and ability to serve guests or team members professionally
