Responsibilities
- Accurately prepare and dispense medications.
- Manage medication inventory, perform data entry into pharmacy software systems, and maintain precise records of medication dispensing and patient information.
- Assist pharmacists with clinical tasks such as pharmaceutical calculations, drug regulation compliance, and medication administration procedures.
- Support patient service initiatives by answering questions, providing medication information, and maintaining patient confidentiality in accordance with state and federal pharmacy laws.
- Ensure adherence to pharmaceutical regulatory standards by following community pharmacy protocols, medical terminology guidelines, and drug regulation policies.
- Participate in medication intake processes, verify prescriptions for accuracy, and process insurance claims or billing as needed.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment by practicing proper sanitation techniques.
Skills
- Experience as a Pharmacy Technician is preferred, however training and certification options are available for motivated individuals.
- Knowledge of pharmaceutical calculations, medical terminology, pharmacological medical terminology, and drug regulation laws.
- Familiarity with pharmacy software systems for data entry, medication tracking, and inventory management.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients and healthcare professionals.
- Ability to adhere strictly to state healthcare regulations and federal pharmacy laws regarding patient confidentiality.
