Title: Field Research Assistant
Location: Johnston, IA
Duration: 3 Months assignment
Pay: $24/hr on W2 without benefits
Shift Rate: Monday-Friday (8am-4:30pm) No OT
Position Summary
We are seeking a motivated, detail-oriented Research Contractor to join our R&D team for a 3-month term. The successful candidate will provide hands-on support for both field-based research plots and greenhouse phenotyping experiments. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual looking to gain experience in agricultural research within a world-class Agriscience company.
Key Responsibilities
Field Activities
Tissue Sampling: Execute precise collection of tissues for molecular analysis, following strict labeling and storage protocols.
Field Phenotyping: Utilize handheld devices or manual tools to record agronomic data.
Greenhouse Phenotyping
Imaging & Data Collection: capture plant growth and development data.
Data & Safety
Data Entry: Accurately record data using mobile tablets and internal systems; maintain clear and organized lab/field notebooks.
Safety Compliance: Adhere to all Corteva Environment, Health, and Safety (EH&S) guidelines and Worker Protection Standards (WPS).
Stewardship: Maintain strict adherence to regulated material handling and biotech trait stewardship protocols.
Qualifications
Education & Experience
High School Diploma required; Bachelor’s degree in Agronomy, Plant Biology, Genetics, or a related agricultural field is preferred.
Prior experience in a greenhouse, farm, or research lab environment is a plus.
Salary : $22 - $24
