Position Summary
The Product Repair Technician performs inspections, teardowns, overhauls, functional testing, and repairs on customer-returned equipment in compliance with regulatory, customer, and company requirements. This role ensures high-quality repair services that support organizational objectives and FAA repair station standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform teardowns, overhauls, and functional testing of repair station products and items.
- Ensure all repair work follows approved procedures and correct document revisions.
- Inspect, troubleshoot, test, and repair shop equipment as required.
- Accurately document all repairs and recertifications per regulatory and departmental requirements.
- Assist in product improvement initiatives and maintain a 5S/FOD-free work environment.
- Complete necessary training to maintain required knowledge and skills.
- Support additional duties as assigned, including variable schedules, nights, or weekends if needed.
Qualifications
Education & Experience:
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
- 2–5 years of relevant product repair, maintenance, or overhaul experience.
- Vocational training, apprenticeships, or equivalent experience in a related field.
Required Skills:
- Ability to read and interpret manuals, blueprints, and written work instructions.
- Proficiency with computers and repair documentation systems.
- Skilled in the use of standard hand tools.
- Strong troubleshooting skills at the component level on complex electronic circuits.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to recognize and resolve common problems within established procedures.
Preferred Skills/Certifications:
- FAA Repair Station background (MRO experience).
- SAP proficiency.
- J-STD-001 and IPC-610 certifications.
- Demonstrated 5S and FOD-free work ethic.
- Ability to adapt quickly and learn new systems or tasks.
