POSITION SUMMARY
This role is responsible for the day-to-day assembly of component pieces into aircraft wheels and brakes. With proper training, the technician will also perform functional testing on finished assemblies and prepare products for shipment. The position requires active participation in daily continuous improvement activities and project-based process enhancements.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Assembly & Testing
- Inspect, clean, and assemble aerospace components into final assemblies.
- Read blueprints, specifications, and work instructions to perform mechanical assembly tasks.
- Conduct testing required for final product acceptance.
Documentation
- Obtain proper work instructions and coordinate with production planning as needed.
- Complete all required documentation to meet internal, government, and customer requirements.
- Perform inspections and complete manual or electronic documentation as necessary.
Equipment
- Operate hydraulic test equipment after training.
- Use power hand tools and auxiliary machinery as needed.
Safety
- Work safely and comply with all environmental, health, and safety policies and procedures.
Miscellaneous
- Perform frequent heavy lifting and walk throughout the workday.
- Maintain regular and punctual attendance.
- Work variable schedules or additional hours when required.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS
- Skilled in routine mechanical and/or electromechanical assembly operations.
- Able to operate various hand tools and machinery.
- Ability to read and interpret safety rules, manufacturing instructions, policies, and procedures.
- Good manual dexterity for working with small parts.
- Able to identify and solve common issues within the work area using established solutions.
- Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Education: High School Diploma required; technical training preferred.
- Certifications: Vocational training, apprenticeships, or equivalent experience in a related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years in a manufacturing environment. Must be able to read blueprints, interpret product specifications, and follow written work instructions. Strong math skills required for discrete part manufacturing.
Job Type: Contract
Pay: $20.00 - $21.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
