Duties and Responsibilities
Apply technical experience in field of specialization or broad-based experience in multiple technical fields, and use other technical resources within the company, to resolve complex problems.
Incorporate advanced technical practices and a variety of complex features such as complicated
technical requirements, application of new or special materials or processes and difficult coordination oversight requirements into problem solving and program planning.
Provide leadership in determining solutions to complex problems and be recognized as having expertise in a functional area(s) of technical expertise.
Develop solutions to complex technical problems in fields of expertise.
Keep informed on technical needs within the company and technical trends in area of expertise in the external world.
Be aware of capabilities of the work group and needs of its customers. Identify technical programs which can be carried out with little guidance and take the initiative to accomplish them.
Lead task teams to develop solutions to more complex problems. Prepare plans including schedules, budgets and personnel requirements for solving major technical tasks identified by management.
Develop schedules, monitor progress, monitor expenditures of budget and review quality of work
performed. Include research, development, testing, quality assurance requirements.
Communicate the results and objectives verbally and in manuscript form to customers, colleagues, managers and oversight groups.
Prepare reports for external publication.
Education
An advanced degree and experience, a Ph.D. degree and about 10 years' experience. OR A
MS degree and 12 years' experience. OR A BS degree and approximately 15 years' experience.
Additional Duties:
Provide Electrical Design Authority engineering staff augmentation support to
the Tritium Projects and Facilities for SRNS. Primary responsibilities include
Engineering analysis; Operations, Maintenance, Project, Startup and
construction support; walk downs; design reviews, development and generation
of design input and output documents including but not limited to: System
Design Descriptions, requirements documents, Single Line Drawings; Electrical
Equipment Lists; Control System Design; Control Schematics and Connection
Diagrams; Electrical Equipment Specifications; Bulk Material Specifications.
Circuit/Raceway/Wiring/Connection Design; Grounding; Heat Tracing; Fire
Detection; Short Circuit Calculations; Arc Flash Incident Energy Analysis; Load
Flow Analysis and Electrical System Sizing Calculations.
Additional Experience Qualifications
Require having 15-20 years of design authority experience in the nuclear
industry.
- Require having working knowledge of NEC, IES, NFPA, IEEE, ETAP, and OSHA
requirements.
- Require having experience using software (preferably ETAP) to generate
electrical system calculations.
- Prefer having SRS Electrical Design Authority Engineering experience.
- Prefer having experience designing Lithium-Ion Battery System as redundant
power.
- Prefer having or previously having DOE Q-clearance.
