Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Permitting Specialist to join our dynamic team and be responsible for all functions related to researching and acquiring applicable permits in compliance with the appropriate local governing authorities. The ideal candidate will be proactive, detail-oriented, and possess strong communication skills to effectively liaise with internal teams and external authorities. Duties
- Understand and demonstrate company culture known as “The Pinnacle Way” in all internal and external business functions.
- Preliminary permit research concerning permitting requirements, submittal requirements, understanding of special processes or meetings for permit approval, including analysis of aerial pictures or construction documents for opportunities and potential issues.
- Gain trust, build rapport and understand individual officials’ roles at various municipalities and offices.
- Collaborate with the Graphic Design Department to ensure permit submittal drawings have all required information for approval without revision.
- Keep the Project Management team abreast of pending changes in all applicable codes and/or new policies to ensure current and future compliance.
- Engage in weekly sales meetings to strengthen relevant technical and professional knowledge and skills.
- Provide project status updates to Project Manager.
- Prepare permit application(s) and submit to appropriate governing authorities.
- Identify and obtain business licenses when required.
- Acquisition of engineered design as required by the local governing authority.
- Collaborate with internal and external customers to assess needs and provide solutions that satisfy those needs.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements related to this position, the department, internal and external customers. Implementation of best-of-class professionalism in communication, customer interaction and work product.
- Position requires use of personal motorized vehicle for functions listed above and others as required.
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
- Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office, and Adobe Acrobat.
Education, Training and Experience Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) is required.
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
- Must possess a valid driver license.
- Prior customer service experience preferred.
- Research experience preferred.
- Prior experience applying for and obtaining permits a plus.
- Proficient computer skills including: Microsoft Outlook
- High level of detail orientation in researching, interpreting, and understanding documents.
- Ability to read and understand permitting code.
- Effectively demonstrate written and verbal communications skills.
- Highly organized and detail oriented in completing a pre-established flow of paperwork, documentation and standard operating procedures.
Pay: $20.00 - $35.00 per hour
