Duties
- Operate CNC milling machines, lathes, grinders, and other machining tools to produce precision parts according to specifications.
- Set up CNC equipment by installing tooling, fixtures, and calibration devices; ensure proper machine alignment and safety protocols.
- Program CNC machines using G-code, M-code, Fanuc controls, and CAM (Computer-Aided Manufacturing) software to optimize machining processes.
- Interpret mechanical blueprints and technical drawings accurately, utilizing measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and coordinate measuring machines for quality control.
- Conduct machine maintenance, troubleshooting, and adjustments to ensure consistent performance and adherence to quality standards.
- Perform precision measurements during machining processes to verify dimensions and tolerances; document inspection results for quality assurance.
- Support lean manufacturing initiatives by optimizing workflows, reducing waste, and maintaining a clean work environment.
Requirements
- Proven experience operating CNC machinery such as CNC lathes or milling machines; familiarity with CNC G-code programming is essential.
- Strong understanding of blueprint reading, GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing), and mechanical blueprint interpretation.
- Proficiency with CAD (Computer-Aided Design) software like SolidWorks or similar programs for part design review.
- Knowledge of machining tools including grinders, hand tools, power tools, tooling setups, and measurement instruments like micrometers and bore gauges.
- Mechanical aptitude with basic math skills for precise measurement calculations and machine setup adjustments.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment while maintaining attention to detail.
