What are the responsibilities and job description for the Business Development Manager position at PINNACLE PRECISION SHEET METAL CORP?
JOB PURPOSE:
This position is responsible to identify new customers within the Aerospace and Defense markets, develop customer relationships and materialize new customer revenue. This position manages customer accounts from discovery through qualification to purchase order receipt and production launch. The Business Development Manager gathers market intelligence by analyzing market trends, communicating with customers, identifying patterns and economic changes in the market as inputs to the company’s growth strategy. The position is responsible for collaborating with internal customers and leadership team members to align business strategies with new customer and market trends.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Actively pursues new customer opportunities in the Aerospace and Defense market to secure future revenue for the company. Converts opportunities to purchase orders or purchase agreements.
- Responsible for the management and maintenance of the established CRM system (Salesforce) which serves as a communication tool to detail new customer opportunities and sales funnel revenue growth opportunities.
- Follows the Customer Qualification Process to identify and qualify new customers by assessing the alignment to goals, risks and ethics using the Opportunity and Risk assessment tools.
- Aligns company to trends or needs identified in the market, including opportunities to grow manufacturing capabilities, value add, CAPEX, operational process improvements, etc.
- Identify market needs by collecting data on patterns, trends, and intel received in the market.
- Follows the Request for Quote (RFQ) process from quote qualification to proposal delivery to the customer.
- Works with the customer to gather 3D Models, 2D drawings/blueprints, supplier specifications and other related documents to properly perform an estimated quote.
- Collaborates with internal teams to launch new products to the operation.
- Negotiate contracts and/or agreements with customers to align with company goals.
- Has a strong understanding of company’s current capabilities, potential growth for value-add capabilities based on our new customers’ needs and can communicate this clearly to potential customers.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s Degree required: Engineering, Business or other related field.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in sales or business development in contract manufacturing, with at least 5 years experience working directly with Aerospace and Defense customers.
- Demonstrated ability to grow targeted customer/market revenue.
- Knowledge of metal fabrication/CNC machining manufacturing processes preferred
- Working knowledge of ITAR, DFARS/CMMC, and NADCAP requirements
- Familiar with ISO 9001/AS9100 standards and associated requirements
- Demonstrated experience working in a fast-paced, changing environment.
- Able to travel by car and airplane, as required, for extended periods of time.
- Position requires up to 75% travel, mostly regional in Southwest US but may require some overnight stays.

Salary : $150,000 - $175,000
