Duties
- Assist loan officers with preparing and reviewing loan applications, ensuring all necessary documentation is complete and accurate
- Support the loan processing team by verifying borrower information, conducting credit analysis, and coordinating with escrow and underwriting departments
- Utilize financial software such as Quicken and other banking tools to track loan progress and update records efficiently
- Ensure compliance with Fair Housing regulations, TILA (Truth in Lending Act), FNMA (Fannie Mae) guidelines, and other relevant federal and state laws
- Communicate effectively with clients to gather additional information, clarify details, and provide updates on application status
- Manage loan origination tasks including data entry using 10 key typing skills, basic math calculations for qualifying ratios, and contract review
- Collaborate with mortgage servicing teams to facilitate smooth loan processing from initial application through funding and closing
Qualifications
- Must have current NMLS License
- Proven experience in financial sales, mortgage servicing, or as a Loan Officer Assistant preferred
- Strong negotiation skills combined with excellent customer service abilities
- Familiarity with FNMA guidelines, TILA regulations, escrow procedures, and underwriting processes
- Proficiency in financial software such as Quicken, accounting software, and mortgage-related platforms
- Basic math skills including 10 key typing accuracy and credit analysis capabilities
- Knowledge of contracts, banking procedures, fair housing regulations, and mortgage origination processes
- Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining attention to detail in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication skills to interact professionally with clients, lenders, and internal teams
