What are the responsibilities and job description for the Account Manager (LTL & TL) position at Pinnacle Logistics Group?
Pinnacle Logistics Group is a tech-enabled 3PL and freight brokerage based in Phoenix, AZ. We bring enterprise-level technology and service to small and midsize shippers, moving LTL, full truckload, and multi-stop truckload consolidation. We are about $40M in revenue, four and a half years old, and growing fast. We build our own technology, including our dock app LTLflow (LTLflow.com), which integrates with automated dimensioning equipment to give shippers and our team better visibility and accuracy.
Total compensation for this role runs $100,000 to $150,000 right out of the gate, because you are walking into an established book of business. It is typically structured as a $70,000 base plus bonus, though alternate structures are possible.

This role manages the customer's overall experience with Pinnacle. Our operations team owns the day-to-day, load-by-load work: responding to quotes, tracking shipments, and handling issues as they come up. This role owns the big picture: stepping in on escalations that put the relationship at risk, building proactive solutions with ops before problems happen, helping shippers improve their shipping process, and helping them get more value out of their account with Pinnacle. We are in a hyper-growth phase, so a meaningful part of this role is onboarding new accounts, not just maintaining existing ones.
Responsibilities
- Own the overall health and experience of a book of LTL and truckload accounts, the big picture, not the load-by-load work
- Handle escalations that go beyond what a department manager can resolve, especially ones that put the relationship at risk
- Work with the ops team to build proactive solutions that prevent problems before they happen
- Run monthly business reviews with real data on service, claims, and cost savings
- Onboard new accounts as we grow, setting them up for long-term success with Pinnacle
- Help shippers optimize how they use Pinnacle, including preloaded commodities, address books, and integrating automated dimensioning equipment with LTLflow
- Monitor account health and act early on at-risk accounts to protect and grow the book
- Stay on top of AR and keep accounts current
- Coordinate across ops, carrier sales, and other departments to get customers what they need
Qualifications
- Real LTL experience: freight class and NMFC, density, accessorials, reweighs and reclasses, transit times, and claims, without needing the basics explained
- Experience at a brokerage or an LTL carrier, in an account management role or a sales role
- If your background is sales, it needs to be hands-on: day-to-day customer interaction and managing the customer side of the book, not selling an account once and moving on
- Willing to work from our Phoenix office. Relocation to Phoenix is included in the job offer
- Truckload experience on top of LTL background is a plus
- Experience with TMS platforms, API-based quoting, or dock and dimensioning technology is a plus
What you should know
- You inherit an established book of business
- You start with an Assistant Account Manager who's already onboarded and up to speed. This helps keep you focused on the high value activities.
- You work with better technology than a typical brokerage account manager
- Fast growth means real career upside as we scale
Salary : $100,000 - $150,000
