Shop Clerk

Maintenance Shop Clerk: provides administrative support to the function of the maintenance division of a logistics company.

Principal responsibilities/key duties include:

• Organizing inventory by utilizing computerized fleet management system – assures availability of parts in a cost-effective manner and processes purchase orders.
• Maintains fleet records on inventory levels, preventative maintenance schedules and corrective maintenance performed on all units.
• Daily tracking of parts, ordering parts and supplies, coordinating with vendors via phone/email, and preparing estimates on repair labor costs and parts.
• Coordinating with maintenance staff to ensure they have the parts and supplies needed to keep workflow organized.
• Act as point of contact with vendors to order and receive goods/services, expedite orders, and maintain relationships with vendors and service providers.
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned

Role requires:

• Strong organizational, data entry, and communication skills.
• Physical stamina: tasks can involve physical labor especially in climbing in and out of the inventory trailers.
• Flexibility to work across shop functions as needed within a 65-mile radius of job site.

Qualifications:

• Related experience in a maintenance/trucking industry
• Technical Skills: Proficiency with office software (Microsoft Office Suite) and data entry skills are essential.
• Soft Skills: Strong organizational and time-management skills, attention to detail, communication (written and verbal), and ability to multitask.

Minimum requirements:

High school diploma or G.E.D.

Valid driver’s license

1 year of general office experience or equivalent training

1 year of clerical, inventory control, or a maintenance-related field

Bilingual in Spanish is a plus

Pay: $23.00 - $30.00 per hour
