Direct Support Professional - EUGENE

About this position

We are seeking a compassionate, dependable, and emotionally resilient Direct Support Professional to support an adult with developmental disabilities in her home and community. Duties include assistance with daily living activities, community outings, meal preparation, medication support, and personal care. This role requires patience, strong professional boundaries, and the ability to remain calm during challenging interactions, as the individual may exhibit verbally aggressive, critical, or manipulative behaviors when frustrated. This position is best suited for someone who is confident, consistent, skilled at de-escalation, and committed to providing quality person-centered support in a demanding environment.

CURRENT NEEDS:

Hiring 3 PT Experienced DSP, T/Th/F/Sa/Su Mid-day, evening and weekends.

The individual requires assistance with multiple Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) and Instrumental Activities of Daily Living (IADLs). Current support needs include:

• Transportation to obtain groceries, meals, prescriptions, and attend community outings.
• Assistance with walking and providing care for her dog.
• Meal planning and meal preparation.
• Medication management and documentation, including support related to her Continuous
  Glucose Monitor (CGM).
• Two-person (2:1) assistance for transfers to ensure health and safety.
• Assistance with perineal (peri) care while maintaining dignity, privacy, and choice.

Pinnacle is seeking a Direct Support Professional to join our team and provide daily support to individuals with developmental disabilities. The successful candidate will have a passion for serving others and a commitment to creating a safe and inclusive environment for all.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with daily living activities, including meal planning and preparation, medication support and documentation, and transportation to appointments, errands, and community activities.
• Support the individual's health, safety, independence, and community involvement, including care related to her Continuous Glucose Monitor (CGM) and assistance with caring for her dog.
• Build and maintain positive relationships with the people you support, their families, and other stakeholders.
• Respond to emergencies and provide crisis intervention as needed.
• Follow all policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulations and standards.
  
• Provide hands-on physical support, including walking assistance, two-person transfers, and personal care while maintaining dignity, privacy, and individual choice.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Able to pass a State of Oregon background check
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work well under pressure and handle challenging situations
• Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including weekends and holidays
• Client prefers female only staff.
Valid driver's license and clean driving record
