Role Description
This is an on-site position located in Glendale, AZ for a Compounding Pharmacist with expertise in a non-sterile laboratory setting. Daily responsibilities include prescription compounding, ensuring formula accuracy, supervising laboratory staff, maintaining compliance records, and collaborating with healthcare providers to address patient-specific needs.
What you’ll do
- Oversee non-sterile compounding activities according to established formulas and protocols, ensuring accuracy and quality.
- Directly supervise pharmacy technicians and other essential support personnel.
- Conduct thorough patient assessments to tailor medication therapies that align with individual health needs.
- Assist in training and evaluation of compounding personnel.
- Verify master formulation records, compounding records, formulas, beyond use dates and finished compounded products.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to manage medication regimens, providing critical care insights and recommendations.
- Maintain accurate inventory management of pharmaceutical supplies, ensuring optimal stock levels and compliance with safety regulations.
- Perform patient consultation and error documentation.
- Utilize pharmacy software and electronic medical records (EMR/EHR) systems for effective documentation and patient tracking.
- Perform other tasks as assigned including but not limited to, project work, inventories, policies and procedures, record keeping, training, technician tasks and auditing processes.
- Follow and enforce all safety and USP<795> and USP <800> standards, good documentation practices (GDP), state and federal guidelines for compounding and any other regulation deemed necessary as designated by Arizona State Board of Pharmacy and FDA.
- Uphold strict adherence to HIPAA regulations while managing sensitive patient information.
Pay: $60-$65 / hr
Work hours : M-F 9:00 am to 4:00 pm
Qualifications
- Strong knowledge and experience in prescription compounding and pharmaceutical calculations for non-sterile preparations
- Skills in laboratory operations, regulatory compliance, and safety protocols
- Proficiency in quality control, inventory management, and equipment maintenance
- Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to analyze formulas and processes
- Effective communication and teamwork skills for collaboration with colleagues and healthcare professionals
- Bachelor's or PharmD degree and a valid state pharmacist license; compounding certifications are a plus
- Experience in a compounding pharmacy setting preferred
