Job Summary
We are seeking a Pharmacy Technician who will work under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist to ensure the safe, accurate, and efficient dispensing of prescription medications. This role combines technical precision, administrative support, and customer service to maintain smooth daily operations and deliver high-quality care. Technicians are responsible for the physical preparation of medications, maintaining precise records, navigating health insurance billing, and managing pharmacy inventory.
Key Responsibilities
- Prescription Fulfillment: Count, measure, weigh, package, and label medications accurately according to physician orders.
- Customer Service: Greet patients, intake prescription requests, process payments, and answer phone inquiries.
- Data Entry: Input patient demographic, allergy, and clinical information into pharmacy software systems.
- Insurance & Billing: Submit claims to insurance companies, verify coverage, and troubleshoot rejected billing requests.
- Inventory Management: Track stock levels, rotate products, audit expiration dates, and prepare reorder lists.
- Compliance & Safety: Maintain sterile, organized workspaces while adhering to HIPAA regulations and state pharmacy laws
Qualifications:
· Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
· Experience: Non-sterile compounding experience is a plus.
· Licensing: Active and in good standing Arizona Pharmacy Technician license.
· Certification: National Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPhT) from the PTCB is required.
Skills:
o Demonstrated proficiency with pharmaceutical calculations.
o Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
o Strong organization and time –management skills.
o Ability to work independently and as part of team.
o Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Physical Requirements:
o Able to sit or stand for extended periods.
o Capable of performing light lifting (up to 20-40 lbs.)
o Able to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
