Role Description The ELD Teacher is a full-time, on-site position located in Denver, CO. This role is responsible for planning and delivering instruction in English language development to multilingual learners across assigned grade levels. Day-to-day responsibilities include creating and implementing standards-based ELD lesson plans, differentiating instruction, and using formative and summative assessments to monitor language progress. The ELD Teacher collaborates with classroom teachers and support staff to integrate language supports into content areas, participates in data and intervention meetings, and communicates regularly with families regarding student growth. Additional duties include maintaining accurate documentation for compliance, contributing to school-wide initiatives, and participating in professional development and staff meetings.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated expertise in English Language Development/ESL instruction, including lesson planning, sheltered instruction, and language acquisition strategies.
- Strong classroom management, student engagement, and instructional differentiation skills to support diverse language proficiency levels.
- Experience using assessment tools, progress monitoring, and data analysis to inform instruction for multilingual learners.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills for working with students, families, colleagues, and support staff.
- Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field; valid teaching license with an ESL/ELD endorsement (or eligibility to obtain, per state requirements).
- Ability to work on-site in Denver, CO, follow school policies and procedures, and contribute positively to a safe and supportive school culture.
