Community-Minded Project Architect / Architectural Designer

Pinnacle Architecture is seeking a project architect or architectural designer who wants their work to meaningfully support affordable housing, community health, senior living, and public service projects across Oregon. We believe good design strengthens communities and that inclusive teams create better outcomes for both clients and staff.

This role is a good fit for someone who values collaboration, follows through on details, and balances creativity with practical problem solving. You will work within a supportive environment that emphasizes consistency, shared tools, and ongoing learning, while leaving room for individual perspective and growth.

Skills and Experience That Support Success in This Role:

  • Interested in contributing to projects that improve quality of life and community wellbeing.
  • Comfortable working both independently and in collaboration, with access to mentorship and team support.
  • Able to manage multiple projects and priorities across all project phases.
  • Sees project constraints as opportunities for creative problem solving.
  • Working knowledge of zoning, building codes, energy codes, and life safety and ADA standards, with support from project teams as needed.
  • Architecture degree from a NAAB-accredited college or university.
  • Oregon Architecture license preferred but not required. We actively support licensure through exam fee reimbursement, mentorship, and flexible scheduling for study time.
  • Experience on commercial and or institutional projects. Multifamily housing experience is a plus but not required.
  • Typically 3 to 8 years of relevant professional experience, or an equivalent combination of experience, skills, education, and lived experience.
  • Proficient in Revit.

Work Location and Flexibility:

This position is based in our Portland office with the option to work remotely up to 4 days per week, depending on project needs and team coordination. We support flexible schedules and value work life integration.

Benefits:

Our goal is to have long-term employees; therefore, our benefits package is competitive and reflects our staff’s feedback. Highlights include robust personal time off (we don’t mess around with work/life balance!), 100% paid healthcare package, licensure exam fee reimbursement, and flexible schedules. Read more about our benefits on our website.

This position has an annual salary range of $62 - $82k, depending on experience and licensure status.
