Role Description
This part-time hybrid Tax Preparer role is based in Gorham, ME, with flexibility to work remotely for some tasks. The Tax Preparer will handle the preparation and review of individual and business tax returns, assist in tax planning, and ensure compliance with federal and state tax regulations. Additional responsibilities include maintaining accurate financial records, communicating effectively with clients, and using accounting software and tools to optimize efficiency in tax preparation and advisory services.
Qualifications
- Proficiency in tax preparation, tax compliance, and tax planning for individuals and businesses
. EA/CPA required.
- Experience with accounting processes, bookkeeping, and financial recordkeeping
- Familiarity with Drake Tax software and other accounting tools
- Strong attention to detail, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills
- Effective communication skills to interact with clients professionally and clearly
- Ability to work independently and efficiently in a hybrid work environment
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (preferred) or equivalent work experience
- Experience in a tax advisory or public accounting firm is a plus
