Duties
- Greet guests warmly upon arrival and manage waitlists efficiently using reservation systems like OpenTable or similar platforms
- Escort guests to their tables, ensuring a smooth seating process with excellent phone etiquette and guest relations skills
- Clear and reset tables promptly, maintaining cleanliness through proper dishwashing, food handling, and cleaning procedures in line with food safety standards
- Support servers by bussing tables, refilling beverages, and delivering food orders swiftly from the kitchen to the dining area
- Assist in food preparation tasks when needed, including basic meal prep or garnishing dishes to enhance presentation
- Maintain the cleanliness of dining areas, restrooms, and service stations through regular cleaning and sanitation practices
- Handle cash transactions accurately using POS systems like Aloha POS or Micros POS, including cash handling and order taking when required
Skills
- Previous experience as a host/hostess or in food service roles demonstrating excellent customer service skills
- Knowledge of food safety protocols and proper food handling techniques
- Ability to perform basic math for cash handling and POS transactions
- Strong communication skills to interact effectively with guests and team members
- Experience with beverage preparation, dishwashing, and kitchen support tasks preferred
- Familiarity with restaurant management systems such as OpenTable or Aloha POS is a plus
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a positive attitude and professional appearance
