Pinewood’s athletics program is an integral part of our mission to develop well-rounded individuals with approximately 65% of students participating in afterschool athletic teams. Our program emphasizes teamwork, character building, and leadership, offering students the opportunity to grow as athletes and leaders in a supportive, community-focused environment.
POSITION SUMMARY:
Pinewood School is seeking a Head Varsity Boys Soccer Coach from early November through mid-February or the 2025-26 school year. We are looking for an individual that is passionate about the game of soccer and able to develop players’ skills while fostering teamwork and sportsmanship.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Coach boys varsity soccer
- Plan, organize and conduct practices to enhance player skills
- Develop and implement game strategies
- Motivate and mentor players to achieve both personal and team goals
- Work collaboratively with other coaches in the program
- Manage team schedules; Attend all practices and games
- Assume the responsibility and safety of all student-athletes
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Possess physical agility: frequent lifting, carrying, pushing and pulling
- Ability to communicate/exchange information accurately and effectively with others in person, by email and on the phone
- Ability to work indoors and outdoors
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience playing or coaching soccer at the high school or college level
- Reliable and punctual
- Strong interpersonal skills; dynamic coach who can connect with students and parents
- Ability to create a positive learning environment for the players
- Available after school and evenings
- Proficient in Google Workspace; experience using TeamSnap is a plus
COMPENSATION:
Soccer coaching stipend range is $6,500-$8,000 for the winter season. The stipend will be based on one’s previous coaching experience and qualifications.
