Pinewood’s athletics program is an integral part of our mission to develop well-rounded individuals with approximately 65% of students participating in afterschool athletic teams. Our program emphasizes teamwork, character building, and leadership, offering students the opportunity to grow as athletes and leaders in a supportive, community-focused environment.

POSITION SUMMARY:

Pinewood School is seeking a Head Varsity Boys Soccer Coach from early November through mid-February or the 2025-26 school year. We are looking for an individual that is passionate about the game of soccer and able to develop players’ skills while fostering teamwork and sportsmanship.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Coach boys varsity soccer

• Plan, organize and conduct practices to enhance player skills

• Develop and implement game strategies

• Motivate and mentor players to achieve both personal and team goals

• Work collaboratively with other coaches in the program

• Manage team schedules; Attend all practices and games

• Assume the responsibility and safety of all student-athletes

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

• Possess physical agility: frequent lifting, carrying, pushing and pulling

• Ability to communicate/exchange information accurately and effectively with others in person, by email and on the phone

• Ability to work indoors and outdoors

• Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Minimum of 3 years of experience playing or coaching soccer at the high school or college level

• Reliable and punctual

• Strong interpersonal skills; dynamic coach who can connect with students and parents

• Ability to create a positive learning environment for the players

• Available after school and evenings

• Proficient in Google Workspace; experience using TeamSnap is a plus

COMPENSATION:

Soccer coaching stipend range is $6,500-$8,000 for the winter season. The stipend will be based on one’s previous coaching experience and qualifications.
