Duties
- Perform detailed cleaning tasks including dusting, vacuuming, mopping, and sanitizing surfaces in both residential and commercial settings
- Conduct floor care procedures such as buffing, stripping, waxing, and polishing to maintain high standards of cleanliness and appearance
- Handle janitorial responsibilities like waste removal, restroom sanitation, and replenishing supplies to ensure hygiene standards are met
- Assist with custodial maintenance including minor repairs and troubleshooting facility issues to support smooth operations
- Support industrial cleaning projects by using specialized equipment for heavy-duty cleaning tasks in large or complex environments
- Maintain cleanliness of common areas, hallways, offices, and other designated spaces with attention to detail and efficiency
- Follow safety protocols during all cleaning activities to prevent accidents and ensure compliance with health regulations
Experience
- Prior janitorial or custodial experience in commercial or residential settings is highly preferred
- Familiarity with floor care techniques such as buffing, stripping, waxing, and polishing is advantageous
- Experience with industrial cleaning equipment and methods is a plus
- Knowledge of facilities maintenance practices including basic repairs and troubleshooting is beneficial
- Previous porter or maintenance roles that involved cleaning and light repairs will be considered an asset
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining high quality standards
- Strong attention to detail combined with a proactive attitude toward maintaining cleanliness and safety
