Position: Remote School Based Speech Pathologist (SLP)
Location: Monmouth, Maine
Salary: $75K-$100K Depending on Education & Experience
Status: Full Time, Remote (Must be Eastern Standard Time).
Educational Requirements:
- Master's Degree in Speech Pathology.
- Maine State Speech-Language Pathologist license or ability to get licensed in Maine.
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) by American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).

MSS is an affiliate of the Becket Family of Services which has 40 locations and over 50 years of serving New England youth and families.
At MSS, we provide individualized therapeutic support and educational services to those students identified as special education and that have not been successful in public school in grades K – 12. All students have an assigned school social worker and are supported by Behavioral Health Professionals (BHP), Special Education Teachers, Occupational Therapists, and Speech Therapists.
Job Duties: The primary responsibilities of the Speech Pathologist include but are not limited to:
- Caseload size should be 25 kids or 25 hours/week.
- Providing speech therapy services for students as specified in the student’s Individual Education Plan (IEP) and Individual Family Service Plan (IFSP).
- Documenting sessions thoroughly including each student’s progress towards their speech therapy goals.
- Using only evidenced based practice during speech sessions.
- Evaluating students to determine their speech therapy needs and goals.
- Planning and implementing activities to help students access educational setting.
- Utilizing assessments that have been approved by the Direct Supervisor to determine the students progress towards their designated goals.
- Facilitating skills groups based upon the needs of the students.
- Preparing and reporting student progress, goals, and future plans during academic and IEP meetings for students on speech caseload.
- Collaborating with the Direct Supervisor to develop a schedule for providing services to students.
- Collaborating with administration, BHP’s, teachers, clinicians, and other providers in order to provide comprehensive support and treatment to students across the entire program.
- Supporting and assisting BHP’s and teachers with behavior management when needed.
- Being familiar with and adhering to all federal, state, and local laws and regulations that govern the scope of the SLP practice.
- Maintaining State of Maine licensure and the Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) by American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).
- Maintaining student confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA and FERPA regulations.
- Participating in and maintain all program required trainings (TCI, CPR, Safety, Etc.)
- Adhering to all company and program policies and procedures.
- Any other duties as assigned by the Program Director, Executive Director, or Direct Supervisor.
