Duties may include supervising skilled and semi-skilled employees, and work is performed in accordance with established procedures, but requires initiative and independent judgment.

Utilities Operations Specialist 3
This is an excellent opportunity to bring utility maintenance experience into a mid-level career ladder role for a Utilities Operations Specialist 3 (UOS3) level. There are also future opportunities to advance to a UOS4 level, supervisor, or manager roles.
What Will You Do?
- Lead person of a small to medium-sized construction crew installing, maintaining and repairing of water, sewer, and reclaimed apparatuses.
- Performs and directs visual inspection of sewer lines.
- Installs clean-outs, backflow devices.
- Performs related work as assigned or required.
- High school diploma or GED and 3 years of skilled utilities field experience; or
- An equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience.
- Possession and maintenance of a valid State of Florida Class A Commercial Driver's License with Tanker endorsement upon hire with eligibility based upon evaluation of a Motor Vehicle Administration (MVA) driving report.
- Possession and maintenance of a valid Level 3 Water Distribution System Operator License obtained in accordance with Florida Administrative Code, Chapter 62-602, Drinking Water and Domestic Wastewater Treatment Plant Operators upon hire.
- Possession and maintenance of Temporary Traffic Control Certification within 9 months of employment.
- Assignment to work a variety of work schedules including compulsory work periods in special, emergency, and/or disaster situations.
- Candidate may be required to perform manual labor for extended periods occasionally in adverse weather conditions.
- Ability to operate medium to large excavating equipment.
- Working knowledge of GIS mapping system for water, sewer and reclaim infrastructure.
