Pinecrest Academy of Nevada is a public charter school located in Henderson and Las Vegas communities, serving students in grades K-12 from six Pinecrest campuses.

The System-Wide Athletic Director will provide dynamic leadership and strategic vision for all athletic programs across the charter school system (K-12). They will be responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing comprehensive athletic programs that promote student engagement, athletic development, and positive sportsmanship, aligning with the charter system's mission and educational goals. The Athletic Director will foster a safe, inclusive, and enriching environment for all student-athletes, coaches, and athletic staff.

Full-Time, 12 Month Position

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in Sports Management, Physical Education, Athletics Administration, Business Administration or a related field; a master's degree is often preferred.
  • Proven experience as an athletic director or in a similar leadership role within a K-12 educational or sports organization.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of K-12 athletics, including applicable rules, regulations, and safety standards.
  • Valid teaching credential is a consideration but not required.
  • Participant in collegiate or professional sports is a consideration but not required.
  • Strong leadership, management, and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with diverse stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage budgets, allocate resources effectively, and oversee financial operations.
  • Experience with strategic planning, program development, and evaluation.
  • Proficiency in using technology for scheduling, communication, data tracking, and administrative tasks.
  • CPR and First Aid certification (or ability to obtain) may be required.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, and to travel between campuses as needed for athletic events, competitions, and related activities.
  • Proven ability to build relationships and collaborate with students, staff, and community partners through effective leadership, marketing, and program development.
  • Skilled in crisis prevention and response, maintaining a safe and supportive environment for students, staff, and spectators during athletic events and activities.

ESSENTIAL PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

The System-wide athletic director shall collaborate across the Pinecrest K-12 charter school system through each campus’ athletic director and principal to:

  • Create a mission and vision for system-wide and campus level athletics within the Pinecrest system.
  • Develop and implement a cohesive athletic philosophy and curriculum across all grade levels (K-12) emphasizing safety
  • In person and online certifications
  • Specific programming for each sport
  • Coaching clinics for volunteers and paid staff
  • Boot camp for new coaches
  • Concussion protocol
  • Build relationships with the City of Henderson and City of Las Vegas Parks and Recreation, and other community centers to gain greater and consistent field and court time.
  • Structure a player development curriculum to include club teams, player skills camps, and summer camps.
  • Oversee the management and maintenance of all athletic facilities and equipment, ensuring safety and optimal functionality.
  • Assist with all aspects of the athletic department system-wide, including personnel, budgets, scheduling, facilities, and equipment.
  • Ensure all athletic programs and activities comply with relevant rules, regulations, and policies (e.g., NCAA, NAI, NCSAA, NIAA, state athletic associations, and other governing agencies).
  • Develop and manage annual fundraising goals by cultivating relationships with local businesses, donors, and grant sponsors to secure financial and in-kind support that expands athletic opportunities and enhances program sustainability.
  • Develop and manage the system-wide athletic budget, allocating funds effectively for equipment, facilities, travel, uniforms, and staffing needs.
  • Provide feedback for all athletic staff and coaches across the system.
  • Create and coordinate schedules for all athletic events, including field/court allocations, competitions, practices, and transportation across multiple school campuses.
  • Promote and market the athletic programs to students, parents, and the broader community to encourage participation and support in the Pinecrest way.
  • Foster strong relationships with students, parents, coaches, school administrators, community members, and relevant athletic organizations.
  • Promote a standard for, and assist with, compliance with eligibility requirements for participation in sports.
  • Help mediate and resolve any disputes or conflicts that may arise between coaches, student-athletes, or parents.
  • Work with booster clubs in line with a Pinecrest agreement between each campus and the athletic booster club.
  • Collaborate with each campus to identify and provide scholarship opportunities for families in need who are unable to pay athletic fees.
  • Coordinate and facilitate athletic awards programs and recognition events.
  • Develop and implement internal and external marketing strategies to promote athletic programs, highlight student-athlete achievements, and enhance community engagement and school spirit.
  • Stay abreast of current trends and best practices in K-12 athletic administration, including sports regulations, coaching techniques, and student-athlete well-being initiatives.

Salary:

Base Salary $65,000-$75,000 based on experience

Bonus Fixed amount achieved by meeting goals on an annual basis of $5000 - $10,000

Sponsorship Revenue Share (Enhanced)* Designed to provide direct compensation for new corporate sponsors. This does not include booster clubs and/or pre-existing partnerships. Percentage TBD

*Enhanced compensation will be eligible after above average annual scores in base compensation.
