Job Summary: The incumbent in this role will provide psychiatric consultations for the Agency’s outpatient clients. S/he will complete documentation in accordance with agency requirements. This is an in-office role.

WHAT You'll do in your role as an Independent Contractor providing Certified Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner services:
- In collaboration with the prescribing physicians, conducts psychiatric evaluations (60 minutes duration) for clients of the Agency’s outpatient clinic to determine a diagnosis and course of treatment. S/he will also provide medication management assessments (20 minute duration) as needed.
- Reviews and signs client treatment plans for the Agency’s outpatient clients. Provides feedback on treatment plan recommendations to the Psychotherapist as needed.
- Utilizes the Agency’s Electronic Health Record system, Welligent, to complete documentation including, but not limited to, treatment planning, recommendations and care provided.
- Uses an effective style of communication regarding diagnosis, treatment recommendations, progress of clients, etc. with the client’s treatment team members and the patient/family.
- Assumes responsibility for own professional development by participating in applicable professional organizations and meeting continuing education requirements to maintain credentials.
- With assistance from the treatment team, manages psychiatric emergencies and resolve any issues related to client medication including prior authorization requests.
- Respects the confidentiality of clients and follow all HIPAA guidelines.
QUALIFICATIONS: Please note these are the minimum required qualifications for this role.
- The position requires a Master’s degree from a board-approved nursing program.
- Must be licensed as a Certified Psychiatric Nurse by the State Board of Nursing AND hold a current Specialty Certification in Psychiatric Mental Health.
- Must have at least one year of experience as a Nurse Practitioner in a psychiatric setting, providing care for children, adolescents, and adults with familiarity following Medicaid and Medicare regulations.
- Must provide evidence of collaborative agreements with one prescribing physicians, including prescriptive authority, or be willing to enter into such agreements with the agency’s physicians, and update the agency upon termination of any of these agreements.
