Swim Instructor
Overview
Instructors will plan and organize quality swimming and water safety instruction of the attendees in the classes. This part-time position plays a vital role in the aquatics segment of All Sport. Our swim programs enroll little ones as early as 6 months old as well as adult swimmer programs.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct group, semi-private, and private swim lessons following All Sport guidelines and procedures.
- Ensure the safety of all participants through constant vigilance.
- Punctually meet all scheduled class times, fully prepared to teach, including equipment set up.
- Plan and organize personal class teaching outlines, methods, and goals that support the general teaching outlines provided by the Aquatics Director and the American Red Cross Swimming Program.
- Establish positive public relations with parents/guardians of the by helping them recognize and understand swimming developments and achievements.
- Enforce pool safety standards and facility operational rules for all individuals using the facilities.
- Maintain facility and equipment to keep a safe, clean environment.
- Provide emergency care and treatment as required.
- Helps organize and assists in the development of special programs, activities or instruction.
- Participate in promoting membership growth and member participation in classes, events, and training.
Qualifications:
- Possess current Water Safety Instructor (WSI) Certification or equivalent
- Current CPR and First Aid Certified
- Successful teaching experience.
- Member service oriented with outstanding communication skills.
Physical Requirements
- Frequently stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, climb stairs, and reach throughout the workday.
- Frequently lift, carry, push, and pull up to 35 pounds.
- Ability to work independently and respond quickly to operational needs throughout the aquatics department.
