Role Description The ESE Teacher is a full-time, on-site role located in Palm Bay, FL. The individual in this role provides specialized instruction and support to students with exceptional student education (ESE) needs across grade levels, ensuring access to the general education curriculum. Day-to-day responsibilities include developing and implementing IEPs, delivering small-group and individualized instruction, collaborating with general education teachers, and monitoring student progress through data collection and assessment. The ESE Teacher communicates regularly with families, participates in IEP meetings, and coordinates services with support staff and related service providers. Additional duties include maintaining accurate documentation, supporting positive behavior interventions, and contributing to school-wide initiatives aligned with the classical education model.
Qualifications
- Strong instructional skills in planning, delivering, and differentiating lessons for students with diverse learning needs.
- Experience with developing, implementing, and monitoring Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and using data to inform instruction.
- Knowledge of special education laws, compliance requirements, and best practices in inclusive and resource settings.
- Effective communication, collaboration, and relationship-building skills with students, families, and colleagues.
- Ability to manage classroom behavior using positive, proactive strategies consistent with school values.
- Flexibility and problem-solving skills in adapting to changing student needs and school priorities.
- Proficiency with educational technology and digital tools used for instruction, documentation, and progress monitoring.
- Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field; valid Florida teaching certification with ESE endorsement (or eligibility to obtain) preferred.
