TITLE
Technology Support Specialist
JOB FUNCTION
Pine Springs Preparatory Academy is seeking a 12-month Technology Support Specialist (TSS) to assist in leading the school’s daily technology operations. This position supports PSPA’s Information Services and Instructional Technology efforts, with a primary focus on Google Workspace for Education for account and device management, policy application, and app integration—while ensuring smooth integration with our student information system (SIS) and other core databases. The ideal candidate will have experience in a school setting, strong skills in database and inventory management, and the ability to support AV systems and printers. Strong technical skills and clear communication with students, staff, and families are essential to supporting our commitment to the PSPA learning and teaching community.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Strong understanding of Google Workspace Admin tools (Admin certification preferred or willingness to obtain), with experience using Google Workspace for Education
- Broad technical knowledge of Windows 10/11, macOS, and ChromeOS platforms.
- Ability to support and troubleshoot a wide range of technology issues, including student and staff devices, classroom AV systems, printers/copiers, and basic network-related problems.
- Proficient in creating and managing databases and spreadsheets for inventory tracking, account management, and general technology documentation.
- Demonstrated ability to work both independently and as part of a team, with strong interpersonal, organizational, communication, and planning skills.
- Previous experience and/or willingness to work in a K–12 educational environment, supporting students, faculty, and staff with professionalism, confidentiality, and cultural sensitivity while valuing a collaborative, team approach to PSPA’s Technology’s core mission
- Bachelor’s degree in Educational Technology, Instructional Technology, Library/Media Science, or a related field preferred.
- Three years of experience in information systems, training, or technology consulting, preferably in an academic setting.
- Experience in one or more of the following areas is highly valued: instructional technology, user support and training, media coordination, or IT problem-solving in schools.
- Preferred but not required: certifications such as Google Workspace Admin, Google IT Support, CompTIA A , or equivalent.
**Equivalency Statement: A combination of directly related education and/or experience may be considered in place of the above qualifications.**
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide end-user technical support for the school’s hardware and software (ChromeOS, Win11pro, MacOS) solutions.
- Manage, document, track and maintain accurate and timely information for technology support tickets and asset inventory.
- Provide Google Workspace and Google Apps in Education technical and instruction support.
- Provide technical support for classroom, office, and guest network connectivity, printing/copying, audio/video connections, etc.
- Provide guidance in end user cybersecurity and genAI best practices.
- Assist in technology project management requiring communication and coordination within the PSPA community.
- Complete all required administrative, operational, and professional development tasks and activities in a responsive manner with an emphasis on attention to detail, team player mentality, and love of working in an educational environment.
- Performs other projects and duties as assigned.
TERM OF EMPLOYMENT
Twelve Month/Annual Contract (Starting August 2026)
COMPENSATION
Salary will be determined based on PSPA budget and experience. Pine Springs Preparatory Academy does not follow the NC salary schedule and does not participate in the NC State Retirement System. PSPA offers a 401k program with a board matching percentage and health coverage options.
