Role Description The Equine Driver/yard hand is a full-time, on-site role based in Bowie, TX. This position involves safely transporting horses and other animals using company vehicles, following all road, safety, and animal-handling regulations. Day-to-day responsibilities include loading and unloading animals, cleaning and maintaining trailers, vehicles, and equipment, and performing routine checks on transport vehicles. The yard hand portion of the role includes feeding, watering, and monitoring animals, cleaning stalls and pens, handling manure and bedding, and maintaining clean, safe yard areas. The role also requires communicating with team members and customers about pick-ups, deliveries, and animal status, as well as assisting with general facility maintenance as needed.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience safely driving trucks and trailers, preferably with livestock or equine transport.
- Hands-on experience handling horses or other large animals, including loading, unloading, and basic care.
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks such as lifting, pushing, pulling, and working in outdoor conditions in all seasons.
- Strong commitment to animal welfare, safety, and humane handling practices.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to follow schedules, instructions, and standard operating procedures.
- Clear communication skills and the ability to interact respectfully with team members and customers.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Prior experience in a farm, ranch, stable, or similar setting is preferred but not required; willingness to learn is essential.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
