Position Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Paraprofessional to support students and instructional staff in a classroom setting. The Paraprofessional will work under the supervision of a certified teacher to assist with instructional activities, classroom management, and student support, including working with students with special needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist teachers in implementing lesson plans and instructional activities
- Work one-on-one or in small groups with students to reinforce learning concepts
- Support students with special needs, including behavioral, academic, and social-emotional needs
- Help maintain a positive, structured, and inclusive classroom environment
- Assist with classroom organization, preparation of materials, and administrative tasks
- Monitor student progress and report observations to the teacher
- Supervise students during transitions, recess, lunch, and other non-classroom settings
- Implement behavior intervention plans and support IEP goals when applicable
- Provide personal care support (if required), such as toileting or mobility assistance
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- Must meet Arizona Department of Education Paraprofessional requirements, including one of the following:
- Associate’s degree or higher, OR
- Completion of at least 60 college credit hours, OR
- Passing score on an approved paraprofessional exam (e.g., ParaPro Assessment)
- Experience working with children or in an educational setting preferred
- Experience with special education or behavioral support is a plus
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to remain patient, flexible, and supportive in a dynamic classroom environment
Licensure/Requirements (Arizona Specific)
- Valid Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card (required)
- CPR/First Aid certification (may be required or obtained upon hire)
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, and assist students throughout the day
- Ability to lift or assist students (if required for the role)
- Ability to respond quickly in classroom or safety situations

Salary : $20 - $22
