Job Overview:
As a Instructional Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and students to provide essential support in educational settings for the upcoming 2026/2027 School Year. This role will primarily be focused on working with students with significant behavior challenges, predominantly in Moderate-to-Severe classrooms, typically 1:1. Your main responsibilities will include supporting teachers in delivering instructional activities, offering individualized attention to students, and fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.

Responsibilities:
- Support Classroom Instruction
- Assist teachers in preparing instructional materials and resources
- Facilitate small group or individual instruction under the direction of the teacher
- Reinforce learning concepts through guided practice and activities.
- Student Assistance
- Ability to Assist with Activities of Daily Living (ADL)
- Provide one-on-one support to students with special needs or learning difficulties
- Assist students in understanding and completing assignments
- Offer encouragement and positive reinforcement to promote student engagement and motivation
- Behavioral Support
- Implement behavior management strategies as directed by the teacher or BCBA
- Help implement educational programs and IEP goals.
- Monitor student behavior and intervene to maintain a productive learning environment
- Foster positive social interactions among students
- Collaborate with classroom teachers, special education staff, and other professionals to address the diverse needs of students
- Participate in team meetings and provide input on student progress and strategies for improvement
- Assist with clerical tasks such as record-keeping, grading, and organizing instructional materials
- Prepare and maintain classroom displays and bulletin boards
- Help with the supervision of students during transitions, lunch, and other non-instructional times
Job Details:
- Monday- Friday (School Hours)
- 6-7 hour shifts
- Start Date: 26/27 School Year
