Duties
- Perform cleaning tasks including sweeping, mopping, dusting, trash removal, and disinfecting to uphold sanitation standards.
- Operate cleaning equipment such as floor buffers, vacuums, and other janitorial tools to ensure efficient maintenance of floors and surfaces.
- Handle chemical agents safely by following proper handling procedures and safety protocols to prevent accidents or contamination.
- Conduct manual handling tasks involving heavy lifting while adhering to safe lifting practices to avoid injury.
- Maintain facilities by performing routine custodial duties, minor repairs, and assisting with general maintenance activities.
- Support floor care efforts including buffing, stripping, waxing, and polishing floors to preserve their appearance and durability.
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols during all custodial activities to promote a safe environment for yourself and others.
Qualifications
- Prior janitorial or custodial experience is preferred, with knowledge of commercial cleaning practices.
- Familiarity with cleaning equipment such as floor buffers, vacuums, and chemical dispensing tools.
- Ability to handle chemical agents safely by following safety procedures and handling instructions.
- Experience with heavy lifting and manual handling techniques in accordance with safe lifting practices.
- Strong attention to detail with a commitment to sanitation and cleanliness standards.
- Excellent customer service skills to interact professionally with staff and visitors when needed.
- Basic facilities maintenance knowledge is a plus, including minor repairs or painting tasks such as residential painting or porter experience.
