Position Overview:

Pinckney Community Schools is seeking a passionate and dedicated Science Teacher.   The ideal candidate will be committed to fostering a rigorous, engaging, and student-centered classroom environment, and demonstrate a strong commitment to academic excellence and the personal growth of each student.

Key Responsibilities:

• Facilitate engaging and standards-aligned instruction in Science with high school students.
• Develop lesson plans that accommodate diverse learning styles and differentiate instruction to meet individual student needs.
• Assess and monitor student progress through formative and summative assessments, using data to inform instruction.
• Create a positive, inclusive, and safe classroom culture that promotes student success and respect for all learners.
• Communicate regularly and effectively with students, parents, and colleagues regarding student performance and classroom activities.
• Collaborate with colleagues in professional learning communities to develop interdisciplinary and cross-curricular lessons.
• Maintain accurate and timely student records in accordance with school policies and procedures.
• Participate in school-wide initiatives, including professional development, school improvement planning, Seminar class facilitation, and extracurricular events.

Qualifications:

• Valid Michigan Teaching Certificate with an endorsement in Science.
• Demonstrated expertise in Earth Science and Chemistry content areas.
• Strong instructional, classroom management, and organizational skills.
• Proficiency in integrating educational technology and online learning tools into classroom instruction.
• Ability to establish effective relationships with students, staff, and families.
• Commitment to fostering a culturally responsive, inclusive learning environment.
• Ability to adapt curriculum and instruction for students with diverse learning needs.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous teaching experience at the high school level.
• Experience in data-driven instruction and formative assessment practices.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distant vision and the ability to adjust

focus. The ability to travel to other buildings is required. The position requires the individual to sometimes work irregular or extended work hours and meet multiple demands from several people.
