Duties
- Greet guests warmly as they arrive, providing a friendly and professional first impression
- Manage reservations and waitlists efficiently using POS (Point of Sale) systems such as Toast POS
- Coordinate seating arrangements to optimize table utilization and minimize wait times
- Answer guest inquiries via phone or in person with clear, courteous communication
- Assist with guest needs throughout their visit, ensuring a positive experience from start to finish
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the host stand and waiting area
- Collaborate with restaurant staff to ensure seamless service flow and guest satisfaction
- Help clean, bus, and re-set tables
- Maintain restroom cleanliness
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a host/hostess or in food service is preferred but not required; enthusiasm and a positive attitude are essential
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage guests professionally and courteously
- Experience with restaurant POS systems such as Toast POS is a plus
- Knowledge of guest services can be advantageous in providing exceptional hospitality
- Excellent phone etiquette and guest relations skills are necessary to handle inquiries effectively
- Ability to stand, walk, and remain energetic during busy service hours
