This position promotes the company to customers via telephone, email, social media, and in person meetings. This position requires a basic to advanced knowledge of the products & services offered by the company and its application to transportation and trucking markets. Your focus will be selling into the company’s hot shot and dedicated division which consists of over 50 trucks that range in size from pickup trucks to 48' flatbeds. This role is both challenging and rewarding as you will work closely with the operations team to help grow the current fleet while growing the company’s footprint within the area you are assigned to service.
Role & Responsibilities
- Prospect and develop new shipper accounts
- Build relationships with manufacturing, industrial, oil & gas, construction, and distribution companies
- Market the company’s hotshot, expedited, dedicated, and time-critical transportation solutions
- Generate leads through cold calling, networking, referrals, and in-person visits
- Quote freight opportunities and negotiate pricing
- Maintain an active sales pipeline and consistently exceed revenue goals
- Represent the company professionally throughout the Houston market
- Initiates a high volume of cold calls, both on the phone and in person, each day
- Develop prospect and targeted leads for an assigned Territory or Service offering.
- Fielding & prioritizing inbound leads from preferred partners
- Team-forward coordination and cooperation with Pinch operations teams as a high priority for delivering and executing quality and sound service to customers
Qualifications and Skills
- Able to leverage existing, viable customer relationships for immediate sales impact to Pinch’s Businesses
- Fast quoting and decision-making
- Ability to sell expedited and hot shot transportation
- A well established, known, and trusted reputation as a reliable and customer-focused sales professional in the industry
- Technical understanding of transport industry products
- Proven background or aptitude for business development
- Proficient user of all modern-day communication tools for high quality and volume of coordination, with ability to accept and learn the latest tools as they may be implemented
- Proven ability to meet sales and personal performance targets
