- Provide nutrition/breastfeeding counseling for low income, pregnant,
- Manage high risk counseling cases and complex assessment and infant
measurements, and approve specialty infant formulas.
- Counsel high risk individuals on complex health issues, including
- Plan, develop, and teach classes on nutrition/breastfeeding,
- Provide training and education on breastfeeding practices and child
- Counsel and educate clients on proper nutrition/breastfeeding
as appropriate.
- Distribute educational, training, and procedural materials to
- Provide outreach programs to explain the nature of PHSD programs and
community needs.
- Perform work of a Nutrition Specialist as needed to meet workload
- Assist with training and cross-training of Nutrition Specialists.
- Maintain case file records.
- Maintain valid Arizona State Drivers license.
- Maintain absolute confidentiality of work-related issues, customer
- Perform other related duties as required.
- Bachelors degree in Dietetics or other nutrition related field.
- Credentialed as a Registered Dietitian (RD) or credentialed as an RD
Preferred Qualifications
- **Arizona residentsmust have an Arizona Drivers License upon

- Bi-lingual English-Spanish language skills.
- Knowledge of federal and state public health program regulations and
procedures and standards, Centers for Disease Control and
Prevention, and other grant funded programs.
- Knowledge of principles and practices of n utrition, therapeutic
- Knowledge of methods, practices, and procedures for assisting public
- Knowledge of regional community service agencies, community
programs for appropriate referrals.
- Knowledge of principles of record keeping and records management.
- Skill in providing effective client services including interviewing,
- Skill in assessing and prioritizing multiple tasks, projects, and

- Skill in operating a personal computer utilizing standard and
