Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Patient Services Representative to join our healthcare team. This vital role involves providing exceptional administrative support and ensuring smooth patient interactions within a busy medical practice. The ideal candidate will possess strong medical administrative skills, familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems, and a commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and HIPAA compliance. Experience in medical billing, coding, and clinic operations is highly valued to facilitate efficient office workflows and enhance patient care experiences.
Responsibilities
- Greet patients professionally and manage front desk operations, including multi-line phone systems and patient check-in/check-out procedures.
- Verify insurance coverage, perform insurance verification, and handle billing inquiries using systems such as Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth, Dentrix, Eaglesoft, and eClinicalWorks.
- Schedule appointments accurately utilizing medical scheduling software while managing calendar updates and rescheduling as needed.
- Collect payments, process co-pays, and handle financial transactions with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Review and update medical records, ensuring proper documentation review in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Assist with intake procedures for new patients, including gathering demographic information and explaining clinic policies.
- Support medical coding activities by applying CPT, ICD-9, ICD-10 codes accurately for billing purposes.
- Maintain organized filing systems for medical records and documentation review processes.
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing patient inquiries professionally and courteously while demonstrating strong phone etiquette.
- Collaborate with clinical staff to facilitate care plans and ensure seamless communication between departments.
Required Qualifications:
- HSD/GED
- Flu vaccinated (no declination/no exemptions)
- Experience with medical insurance, referral processes, and benefit plans
- 1 year of recent experience working in an outpatient clinic or medical office setting
- Ability to read, understand, and respond to detailed oral and written instructions
- Experience with CS-Link/Epic
Pay: $24.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
