Key Responsibilities
- Financial Consulting: Meet one-on-one with students to identify their financial needs and explain their eligibility for grants, loans, and benefits.
- Application Guidance: Help students and families navigate the financial aid process, ensuring all forms are completed accurately and submitted on time.
- Account Management: Partner with students to establish clear, manageable payment plans and provide ongoing support to keep their accounts in good standing.
- File Maintenance: Ensure student financial records are organized and meet all necessary professional and federal standards.
- Team Collaboration: Coordinate with the Admissions department to ensure a smooth, supportive experience for every student from enrollment to their first day of class.
- A Relationship Builder: You enjoy a day filled with student interaction and can build rapport quickly with people from all walks of life.
- Detail-Oriented: You take pride in the accuracy of your work and understand that behind every form is a student counting on you.
- A Problem Solver: You are energized by finding solutions and staying organized. (Note: This is an active, engagement-focused role; it is not a "behind-the-scenes" data entry position.)
- Education: High School Diploma or GED required (Associate degree or higher is a plus).
- Experience: 1–3 years in a professional, customer-facing environment. Backgrounds in Banking, Medical Billing, or Insurance are highly preferred.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written skills; you should be comfortable explaining complex topics in a simple, friendly way.
- Reliability: Ability to maintain unencumbered access to Department of Education (DOE) systems (no federal student loans in default).
