Position Summary:The Dean of Education and Student Success provides visionary leadership and strategic oversight for education programs and comprehensive student success initiatives across the college. This dynamic role combines partnering with university and K-12 institutions to address critical teacher shortages while expanding pathways for aspiring educators through Pima's certificates, associate degrees, and Bachelor of Education program. The Dean will establish and cultivate a Center of Excellence in Education, lead college-wide student success strategies, including Early Alert systems and co-curricular programming, and collaborate closely with Student Experience teams to create seamless onboarding and support systems. Additionally, the position involves providing leadership for the academic division, fostering cross-divisional collaboration, developing and implementing strategic plans for departmental programs, and building strong internal and external partnerships to advance both education and student success missions throughout the institution.The work schedule for this position is flexible and may include working evenings and weekends.

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provides administrative direction and supervision of academic disciplines or programs and oversees the success of students taking classes in the divisions
- Analyzes and monitors department resources and budget
- Leads development of a data-informed and student-centered master schedule to ensure clear pathways for student completion and graduation
- Manages faculty, department heads, and support staff. Leads college-wide projects and participates in a variety of workgroups
- Assigns projects and objectives and conducts performance evaluations
- Leads a team of faculty and staff to address short-term and long-term goals for college programs
- Oversees implementation of credit, non-credit, independent study, and workshop courses, including Pima’s Bachelor’s of Education
- Manages course scheduling, monitors enrollment, and adjusts as necessary. Reviews syllabi, course management and content for all courses
- Performs all other duties and responsibilities as assigned or directed by the supervisor
- Master’s degree in Academic Area or a closely related field of study required, enabling the candidate to teach in a subject they are supervising and
- Eight years of related teaching experience and
- Three plus years of supervisory experience
- An equivalent combination of certification, education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above
- Doctoral Higher Education or a closely related field of study
- Six plus years of supervisory experience
- Knowledge of advising and counseling practices
- Knowledge of best practices in teaching and learning
- Knowledge of business management and fiscal practices
- Knowledge of principles and methods for promoting programs and services
- Knowledge and application of various instructional methodologies
- Skill in budget/resource management
- Skill in people leadership and supervision
- Skill in program development and process improvement
- Ability to develop and maintain effective and positive working relationships
