Primary Purpose:
Provide high-quality, dual-language instruction to kindergarten students, fostering bilingualism, biliteracy, academic achievement, and cross-cultural competence in a nurturing and engaging environment. Support the mission of Pilot Point ISD to inspire and equip students to reach their full potential.
Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university
- Valid Texas teaching certificate with required bilingual education and early childhood endorsements
- English as a Second Language (ESL) certification (preferred if not included)
Special Knowledge/Skills:
- Fluency in English and Spanish (oral and written)
- Strong knowledge of early childhood education best practices
- Ability to plan and deliver engaging, standards-based lessons in both languages
- Familiarity with dual language or bilingual program models
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
- Ability to establish positive relationships with students, families, and staff
Responsibilities:
- Create a classroom environment that is welcoming, supportive, and developmentally appropriate for kindergarten learners.
- Develop and deliver effective bilingual instruction in alignment with district curriculum, Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS), and the English Language Proficiency Standards (ELPS).
- Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of English learners, emerging bilinguals, and diverse learners.
- Implement instructional strategies that promote bilingualism, biliteracy, and academic success.
- Use a variety of assessment tools to evaluate student progress, guide instruction, and communicate with families.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues, administrators, and support staff to promote student growth and achievement.
- Actively engage in professional development related to bilingual education and early childhood best practices.
- Communicate regularly and effectively with parents in both English and Spanish.
- Foster a classroom culture of respect, responsibility, and high expectations.
- Comply with all district and campus policies, procedures, and guidelines.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Salary:
Per Pilot Point ISD Teacher Salary Schedule
$4,000 Stipend

Pay: $50,800.00 - $67,125.00 per year
