Role Description The Calibration Technician is a full-time, on-site role based in New Bern, NC. This role is responsible for performing calibration, verification, and adjustment of a wide range of test equipment and instrumentation used in aviation ground support and related applications. Day-to-day tasks include following established calibration procedures, documenting results, maintaining accurate records in calibration management systems, and ensuring tools and equipment meet applicable standards and specifications. The Calibration Technician will inspect equipment for defects, perform basic troubleshooting, coordinate with service teams for repairs, and support preventative maintenance activities. The role also involves collaborating with engineers, service technicians, and customer support teams to meet turnaround times and uphold PJi’s quality and safety standards.

Qualifications

  • Candidates should possess strong skills in Calibration and Instrumentation, with the ability to follow detailed procedures and interpret technical specifications.
  • Candidates should possess Laboratory Skills, including handling sensitive equipment, maintaining clean and organized workspaces, and adhering to safety and quality protocols.
  • Candidates should possess experience with Test Equipment commonly used in aviation and industrial environments, including setup, operation, and performance verification.
  • Candidates should possess Troubleshooting abilities to diagnose equipment issues, identify root causes, and determine appropriate corrective actions.
  • Relevant qualifications such as a technical certificate or associate degree in electronics, instrumentation, aviation maintenance, or a related field are beneficial.
  • Beneficial skills include reading schematics and technical manuals, familiarity with ISO/IEC 17025 or similar calibration standards, and basic computer proficiency for using calibration management software.
  • Strong attention to detail, time management, and communication skills, along with the ability to work safely in an on-site service environment, are highly desirable.
