Job Overview
The Construction Foreman is responsible for overseeing and coordinating all on-site construction activities to ensure projects are completed safely, on time, and to quality standards. This role involves supervising crews, managing resources, enforcing safety protocols, and serving as the primary on-site point of contact for crews, leadership personnel, subcontractors, and clients. The Foreman provides leadership in the field, resolves issues quickly, and ensures work aligns with project plans and specifications. This role requires 100% travel in Texas and surrounding states. The ideal candidate has extensive knowledge in the construction industry, previous leadership experience, and the ability to demonstrate professionalism while meeting productivity requirements safely and effectively. This position will report directly to the Superintendent/Operations Manager.
Responsibilities
- Leadership & Supervision: Direct and oversee construction crews, subcontractors and equipment operators. Assign tasks, monitor progress and ensure proper execution of project plans. Oversee and maintain productivity and safety to ensure deadlines are met.
- Project Execution: Read and interpret blueprints, drawings and project specifications. Coordinate material deliveries, equipment usage, and workforce scheduling. Monitor work quality, maintain accurate daily reports, time sheets, and project documentation.
- Safety & Compliance: Lead by example in promoting a strong safety culture in the workspace. Ensure compliance with company safety standards, as well as compliance with all applicable state/province/and federal regulations.
- Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact for crew and leadership personnel regarding field activities, etc. Communicate project progress, challenges, and needs effectively to management. Engage with clients and other on-site visitors.
Qualifications and Required Skills
- Minimum 5 years of experience in construction with a proven track record in a supervisory role.
- Strong leadership experience, with the ability to supervise teams and foster a positive work environment.
- Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to manage schedules, resources, and inventory while meeting deadlines.
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, tools, equipment, and safety regulations.
- Effective communication skills for collaborating with team members, suppliers, and stakeholders.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish strongly preferred.
- OSHA 30-hour certification (active and maintained) preferred.
- Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office applications and familiarity with Excel, Outlook, Word and Adobe.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean record.
- Willingness to travel 100%.
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment criminal background check and drug screen.
- Must have a valid Driver’s License and clean driving record.
Physical Demands & Work Environment
- Requires physical agility to navigate construction sites, climb ladders/stairs, and work outdoors.
- May be exposed to noise, dust, or other workplace elements, requiring appropriate PPE.
- Schedule may include working extended hours outside of a 40-hour week.
