What are the responsibilities and job description for the Mechanic 2nd Shift position at PILOT CORP OF AMERICA?
Position Summary:
Perform maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of all production and conveyor equipment.
Essential Job Functions & Responsibilities:
- Follow all company policies and safety procedures.
- Understand production machinery functions necessary for proper operations and troubleshooting.
- Diagnose and repair production equipment and machinery as well as distribution conveyor system components to ensure proper and efficient operation.
- Perform machine change overs and machinery set-ups, as required by production.
- Perform machine and equipment Preventive Maintenance and document results.
- Effectively communicate with Operators, Supervisors, QA, Engineering, and Maintenance teams regarding machinery conditions and operational status.
- Assist with inventory levels and proper storage of spare parts and supplies.
- Work closely with Engineering and Maintenance team on machinery and equipment issues, component retrofits, and machine upgrades.
- Operate small equipment (forklifts and man lifts), as required.
- Assist with facility maintenance, as required.
- Maintain a clean and orderly work area.
- Work extended shifts and/or weekends, when necessary.
Education and Experience Requirements:
Trade school certificate or Associate degree, plus up to 4 years of electrical and mechanical experience.
Skills Required:
Good communication skills. Attention to detail and ability to multi-task is required. Able to read blueprints, diagrams, drawings, and maintenance manuals. Able to run shop equipment and skilled in the use of all hand and power tools. Ability to effectively use Microsoft Office Suite and modern computer devices.
