PRODUCTION PLANNER
Role Summary
This position will effectively schedule the production operations for the Middletown manufacturing plant using planning systems, customer service, and operations feedback. This position is responsible for daily review of open orders and inventory positions, monitoring the facility’s delivery against the schedule and coordination with Customer Service to minimize order confirmation time and maximize customer satisfaction. The role also participates in regular review and update of production planning procedures and leads continuous improvement efforts in the supply chain functions.

The role also participates in regular review and update of production planning procedures and leads continuous improvement efforts in the supply chain functions.
Key Responsibilities
- Own production planning and creation of daily production for all MTO and MTS products utilizing the Pilot planning systems.
- Responsible for inventory management in relation to production.
- Responsible for releasing purchase orders, scheduling deliveries, and managing raw material inventories delivered by truck.
- Ensure successful coordination between Planning and all operation functions.
- Maintain and improve planning tools and work with Supply Chain to support corporate initiatives.
- Owner of planning and scheduling documents and procedures.
- Ensure operators have and understand the daily production schedule.
- Ensure execution of daily plan with support as required.
- Continuously coordinate with Supply Chain and Customer Service with respect to forecasting, planned and unplanned downtime, schedule adjustments, planning issues, and other relevant pieces .
- Support and prioritize as relevant: Corporate Management System, plant leadership, company culture, quality improvement, metrics, inventory, safe work environment, Lab Quality Control, internal audits, operations improvements, capital projects and business strategy.
- Minimum of an associate degree (relevant work experience will be considered)
- Minimum of 2 years’ hands-on experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Advanced understanding of ERP systems, Routings and BoM, and inventory accounting
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Access and Excel
- Proven verbal and written communication skills
- Team player with good relationships with peers, subordinates, and superiors
- Formal training and experience using production planning tools
- Training in organization and time management
- Proven continuous improvement of skills and understanding of quality management systems
